Chris Brown (Co-Director)
BArch Hons MArch PGDip ARB RIBA


Chris is a true Geordie from Newcastle upon Tyne and studied Architecture alongside Emily at Northumbria University. A qualified architect and a member of the RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects), Chris brings a wealth of experience to the team. Before joining Emily Scullion Architects, he worked at several award-winning architectural practices in the Northeast.

Specialising in innovative residential design with a strong focus on sustainability, Chris has a proven track record of creating beautiful, practical, and energy-efficient buildings and extensions, with project budgets ranging up to £1.5 million. His designs combine a thoughtful integration of functionality, aesthetics, and environmental considerations.

 

In addition to his work at ESA, Chris is a part-time studio tutor at Northumbria University, where he teaches Architecture and Interior Architecture at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Through this role, he is able to inspire the next generation of designers while staying connected to cutting-edge research. Chris has also undertaken several research projects as part of his academic work.

Chris maintains an active lifestyle through playing football, golf and going to the gym. He also enjoys cooking for his family and doing DIY projects around the house.
